Whilst Sage software is approved by most accountants as being a good quality product, using it without training is a bit like being asked to drive a car without lessons. Our training not only covers which buttons to press but is based on good accountancy practice and understanding how to deal with VAT correctly.
If you can present a good set of data to your accountant you should expect to pay substantially less in fees than others who are not so careful.
So training is an investment.
A well trained member of staff should be able to produce reliable figures for you to use in your business as well as helping to keep your accountancy fees down. Your VAT returns will of course be correct.
If you can produce rudimentary figures for profit on a regular basis from Sage, then you can plan your business future more easily and sort out the weak areas indicated by the figures.

Our Method of Operation
Our training is divided into half day sessions of three hours each. We come to your office and our training is based on entering live information to Sage. That way it means something to the person being trained.
At our first session we talk to the MD about the way the company is run, look at published accounts and discuss what sort of information the company requires from the accounts. This information is used to set up the chart of accounts and consider how various types of input will need to be done.
We then start a tailored programme of training sessions to suit company needs, delivered at company premises, with live data. Our training methods are based on gradual build up of knowledge and continual checking of what has been learnt. Staff will gain confidence and knowledge by going at their speed of learning.
In between sessions we ask the people we train to input data on their own, where we have already covered how to do this, stressing that they can call us if they have problems.
On our return, we check the data and sort out any misunderstandings before continuing with the training.
Learners are encouraged to call us if they get stuck between sessions free of charge. We know this speeds up learning. Our helpline service can be extended after the training is completed and many companies use our support service for years.

How would this service help you?

Many bookkeepers are not well-trained. We can show your key personnel how to follow best practice so that accounts can be easily and accurately produced from their data input. We can show them how to avoid problems with VAT and how to ensure that their input is of the highest quality. That will save you accountancy fees at your year end, keep you out of the clutches of the VAT man and enable you to start relying on the figures your computer gives you.
